Volunteer

Volunteer

We are run entirely by volunteers and parent helpers who give up their time to enable us to run our Group and Sections.

There’s lots of ways you can get more involved in Scouting – from making butties or tidying up at an event, to playing a vital role behind the scenes or stepping up as a leader, our volunteering activities are as varied as you.

Whatever your skill set, lend a hand for as little or as much time as you can spare, and we promise you’ll get more out than you put in. Scouts happens when a lot of us give a little (and no, you don’t have to be a Scout or outdoors expert to volunteer).

What to expect

  • A warm welcome
  • Flexibility to get involved in a way that works for you – for example sharing roles
  • Friendly ongoing support from local volunteers – in the village, in wider Sussex and and beyond…
  • An award winning training scheme from The Scout Association

Become a Volunteer

Whether you are a parent of one of our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts or just wanting to find a rewarding way to use your time, Scouts has so much to offer. And with your help we can continue to support young people and offer spaces to those on our waiting lists.

We are always looking for volunteers and leaders and planning for the future, you can see our Open roles here.

Whether you are a parent or connected in any way to the Group or the village, feel free to approach a leader – we’re ready to hear from you!

PS there’s no previous experience of Scouting required – just ideas and any time as you can share.
