Beavers

Age

Beavers are aged 6-8 ½ years old and are the youngest of our Scouts sections.

Beaver Scout Promise

I promise to do my best
To be kind and helpful
And to love God.

Beavers have a Promise and Motto, but there is not a Beaver Scout Law. However they work together to work on a Code of Conduct and learn about Scouting Values.

Structure

A group of Beaver Scouts is called a Colony and is made up into smaller groups called Lodges. Our Lodges are Wolves, Eagles and Bears.

Meetings

Mondays from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

Beavers usually meet once a week during term time. We are outside for as much of the year as we can be, enjoying the beautiful village and its surroundings. There will be plenty of opportunity to earn Badges as well as the chance to take part in the fun and excitement of camps. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.

If you would like to find more information about being a Beaver please find a link to the Beavers pages on the main Scouts website here.

Joining

If you would like to join Beavers, please fill out this form to join the waiting list. Places are usually offered once a child is 6 years old if spaces allow. Younger entry is at the GSLs and Beaver Scout Leader’s discretion (see our Wait list and Joining policy for more information).
