Scout Hut Update

Sadly we are leaving our home of 60 years at the end of August and moving to the Pavillion at Ditchling Recreation Ground. This is also available to hire – Contact Sean Guirey at ditchlingpav@gmail.com for hire details.

Equipment Hire

We have a wide selction of camping equipment such as Event Shelters and trangias available for hire. Prices are below and Scout Groups, Guides and Brownies receie a 50% discount. Please contact us to enquire.

Equipment Prices

Event Shelter            £40 per day (2 available)

Modern tents            £2-4 per day (2 man, 3 man, 4 man and 6 man tents available)

Canvas Patrol tent   £20 per day

Canvass Bell tent      £20 per day

Trangia                       £4 per day each (8 available, excludes gas)

Fire pit                        £2 per day

Campfire grill            £2 per day

General Conditions

  1. Full hire charge to be paid at time of booking.
  2. Refundable Cash Deposit to be paid at time of collection. (See #4). We will request sight of a form of photo ID and document with home address at time of collection. Deposit of £100 for tents and Event shelters, £50 for trangias, £20 for firepits and grilss.
  3. Please be aware that we are a Scout group first so the equipment does not have that brand new gleam to it.
  4. Equipment / hut to be returned in same condition and dry state as collected / hired.
  5. Damage to items may result in some/all of deposit being forfeit.
  6. Rain clause – If you need to dry equipment before returning just let us know and we will likely wave the additional daily charge for this activity.
  7. We will consider reasonable requests for refund.
  8. If you are a local charity or local youth organisation please let us know at the time of booking as you may qualify for members discount.
  9. All payments are considered as donations to 1st Ditchling Scout Group.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
